Difficult though it may be to believe, he was a trained chorister. Nowadays his descant vocals are distinctly baritone.
He will have a go at anything that can be blown but draws the line at dynamite.
Celtic Ferret is Jean Reid and Ian Bartlett, musicians who are passionate about traditional folk music. They bring a unique blend of British and New Zealand folk songs and tunes to life.
Their attention to story telling and musical arrangement adds depth and authenticity to their performances, making Celtic Ferret a standout in the New Zealand folk music scene.
With two acclaimed albums to their credit, a third in the offing and performing at any opportunity, they are one of the hardest working folk duos in Aotearoa New Zealand.

With her captivating voice and consummate guitar work Jean takes care of the strings department.
She'll also thrash a mean bodhran from time to time.
She can be relied upon to work out a harmony for pretty much any melody and this skill is evident in many 0f the Ferrets' arrangements.
